Tournament Format
In a traditional ski jumping tournament there are judges grading the style of each jumper. Up to 60 points are earned each jump on style alone. You then add the jumpers distance points and you have a one jump total. The jumper takes two competition jumps. Add his points from both jumps together and that determines his overall rank.

The speed the skier travels down the inrun (ramp) of the jump is determined by a competition jury. They set the skiers speed by adjusting the gate the skiers starts from. This is determined in practice rounds and depends on how far the best jumper on the hill is going.
